RANGE RULES
WORTHINGTON ROD AND GUN CLUB
RANGE IS FOR USE BY MEMBERS AND GUESTS WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER, ONLY!
* FOLLOW THE HOURS OF USE POSTED ON THE ROAD IN

* REMOVE EVERYTHING YOU BRING IN – DO NOT LEAVE TARGETS, SHOT UP FRAMES OR OTHER ITEMS ON THE RANGE.

* CLEAN UP ALL BRASS AND SHELLS AND TAKE THEM OUT WITH YOU!

* DO NOT SHOOT DIRECTLY AT ROCKS! THIS IS A POPULATED AREA, RICOCHET WILL SEND BULLETS IN UNINTENDED DIRECTIONS! MANY HOMES WITHIN 1 MILE!

* SHOOTING AT ROCKS ALSO BREAKS BULLETS INTO SMALL FRAGMENTS WHICH CAN BREAK DOWN AND CONTAMINATE SOIL AND WATER

* MOUNT ALL TARGET STANDS ON THE BERM, NOT MIDWAY FROM THE SHOOTING STAND, LOW ANGLE IMPACTS CAUSE UNPREDICTABLE BULLET IMPACTS AND RICOCHET

* BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR – FOLLOW HOURS- AND BE COURTEOUS TO OTHERS,  ALL HAVE EQUAL RIGHT TO USE RANGE

* NO SHOOTING WHEN CLUB HAS BEEN RENTED FOR PRIVATE FUNCTIONS, OR WHEN TRAINING CLASSES OR SCOUTS ARE USING CAMPING AREA.

* USE OF CLUB BY SPECIAL GROUPS TAKES PRIORITY – SHOOTING CLASSES, POLICE, COMPETITION SHOOTING, HUNTER EDUCATION, NRA CLASSES, OR ANY OTHER CLUB SANCTIONED SPECIAL FUNCTION.
FOLLOW ALL NRA BASIC SAFETY RULES!


1. TREAT EVERY GUN WITH THE RESPECT DUE A LOADED GUN.
2. ALWAYS KEEP THE GUN POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION.
WATCH THE MUZZLE! BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE MUZZLE EVEN IF YOU STUMBLE 

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TILL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT

4. NEVER POINT A GUN AT ANYTHING YOU DON’T INTEND TO SHOOT

5. KEEP THE GUN UNLOADED  UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT. BE SURE BARREL AND ACTION ARE CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTIONS AND THAT YOU HAVE ONLY THE AMMUNITION OF THE PROPER SIZE FOR THE GUN YOU ARE CARRYING.

6. BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET BEFORE YOU PULL THE TRIGGER, KNOW YOUR BACK STOP. 

7. UNLOAD GUNS WHEN NOT IN USE. TAKE DOWN OR HAVE ACTIONS OPEN.  GUNS SHOULD BE CASED WHEN CARRIED TO OR FROM SHOOTING AREA.

8. NEVER CLIMB A FENCE OR TREE OR JUMP A DITCH WITH A LOADED GUN, NEVER PULL A GUN TOWARD YOU BY THE MUZZLE.

9. NEVER SHOOT A BULLET AT A FLAT, HARD SURFACE OR WATER, AT TARGET PRACTICE BE SURE YOUR BACKSTOP IS ADEQUATE.

10. STORE GUNS AND AMMUNITION SEPARATELY BEYOND THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND CARELESS ADULTS.

11. AVOID ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES BEFORE OR DURING SHOOTING. DO NOT USE OVER THE COUNTER OR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS WHEN SHOOTING.


EYE AND EAR PROTECTION ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SHOOTING ACTIVITIES!
